The following scholarship opportunities are available due to generous support from Southeast Health Foundation donors.
Michael Miller Memorial Scholarship Benefitting Southeast Health’s Teenage Volunteers
In June 2022, the Southeast Health family lost a beloved team member, Michael Miller. He was a few months shy of his 30-year work anniversary, and his impact was indescribable. To honor Michael and his legacy, the Southeast Health Foundation announced the Michael Miller Memorial Scholarship (MMMS) benefitting Southeast Health’s Teenage Volunteers. The Southeast Health Foundation’s Employee Campaign Advisory Council granted an initial gift to the scholarship fund. Scholarships will be awarded annually to eligible members of the Southeast Health Teenage Volunteer (TAV) Program. Scholarship recipient will be granted an award of $2,000 to meet normal educational expenses.

Suzanne & Ronald S. Owen Scholarship Benefitting Dependent Children of Southeast Health Employees
The Suzanne & Ronald S. Owen Scholarship will be awarded on an annual basis to eligible dependent children of Southeast Health employees. Recipients will receive funding for academic or technical one-time, limited tuition scholarships to accredited two and four-year colleges and universities based on the criteria. Two (2), $1,000 scholarships will be awarded by the Southeast Health Foundation.

The Walter Scott Foundation Southeast Health Nursing Scholarship
The Walter Scott Foundation Southeast Health Nursing Scholarship financially assist Southeast Health nurses in attaining their advanced nursing degrees or any team member who wants to become a nurse.

Scholarship Requirements:
- The recipient must be an Alabama resident.
- The recipient must be a full or part-time employee of Southeast Health.
- The recipient must be pursuing a degree in nursing.
- The recipient must provide a copy of the letter of acceptance from the nursing program.
- The recipient must be willing to sign a one (1) year commitment to continue working at Southeast Health at the conclusion of his/her studies.
- The recipient must have and/or maintain a 3.3 GPA and provide evidence of such.
- Recipients must complete an application including a 350-word essay on why they are deserving of a scholarship and submit a letter of recommendation.

The Walter Scott Foundation Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine Scholarship
The Walter Scott Foundation Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine Scholarship financially assists ACOM students that have completed the first- and second-year curriculum successfully and entering ACOM as a third-year, full-time medical student (OMS-III) with a minimum 3.3 grade point average.
Scholarships will be awarded at a minimum of $2,000 based on the determination of a scholarship committee which will be established with the guidance of the Southeast Health Foundation Board of Trustees and the ACOM Dean of Students.

Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine Underrepresented Minority Scholarship
The Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine (ACOM) Underrepresented Minority Scholarship recognizes underrepresented minority (URM) students. Each year the Southeast Health Foundation (Foundation) in partnership with the ACOM annually awards two financial scholarships of $5,000 to osteopathic medical students from the ACOM Scholarship Fund (Fund).
